What is Lent?

Lent is a season of the Church calendar when we take time to reflect on our lives and to remember that we are human beings who need and desire a relationship with our Creator. During Lent, we ask ourselves where we are not fully living the life we were created to live and we receive once again the mercy and grace of God as we journey towards the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Lent carries the symbolism of death and new life, of darkness and light, of burial and resurrection. During the season of Lent, we recognize the dead places in our lives and we invite God to bring them to new life as we prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter.

We are offering several opportunities during Lent for our Wesley Family to grow deeper in our relationships with God and each other.
